I've heard...Wow, that is an interesting video. I've heard of experiments that show animals can feel hopeless or depressed, based on Seligman's Theory of Learned Helplessness, but those were rather extreme experiments (they used electric shocks on dogs. It was in the 1960s, before animal rights apparently). Anyway, these pigs sound like they are picking up on more subtle cues, so their response is more surprising. Animals probably have better minds than we realize, and these findings about environment and optimism probably have human applications as well. I may post about something like this in the future.
